Sophie Allport’s Chelsea Flower Show Memorabilia Supports the Royal Hospital Chelsea

The Chelsea Flower Show has been part of the Sophie Allport story since 2010, and it’s one of our favourite events. This year, we have exclusively partnered with The Royal Hospital Chelsea on our limited-edition Chelsea Flower Show collection, which includes a beautiful fine bone china mug, cotton tea towel, serving tray, and a print hand signed by Sophie.

10% of net sales made from the Chelsea Flower Show product range will be given to The Royal Hospital Chelsea to help look after former soldiers of the British Army.

About The Royal Hospital Chelsea

The Royal Hospital Chelsea was founded by King Charles II in 1682 as a refuge for soldiers “broken by age or war” and has provided a home, care and comradeship for veterans of the British Army since 1692. It was one of the first organisations in Britain to look after former servicemen and women, a commitment which they continue to honour. Any former soldier of the British Army of pensionable age, who is faced with spending their advanced years alone, can apply to live at the Royal Hospital and become a Chelsea Pensioner.

Today, around 300 Army veterans live at the Royal Hospital, including those who have served in World War II, Korea, Cyprus, the Falkland Islands and Northern Ireland. Every Chelsea Pensioner knows what it means to be a soldier in the British Army and the potential sacrifice it entails. The Royal Hospital recognises their service through its exceptional care and support.

Each year, the Chelsea Pensioners represent the Royal Hospital at military and commemorative events, including the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph. They also travel all over the world in ceremonial and ambassadorial capacities. Additionally, Chelsea Pensioners work hard to support the wider veteran community as part of the Royal Hospital’s outreach program, making valuable contributions and visits to schools, prisons, hospitals and other organisations.

Held on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Chelsea Flower Show inspires hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world. Our beautiful and limited-edition collection makes excellent memorabilia and a great gift idea for gardening enthusiasts.

Sophie’s design features the spectacular London Gate on Royal Hospital Road filled with delightful poppies, foxgloves, roses, and alliums in full bloom. Bumblebees, dragonflies, and butterflies dance through the sky, whilst playful hedgehogs wear Royal crowns, making a nod to The King’s Coronation. Dressed in iconic scarlets, cheerful Chelsea Pensioners enjoy the relaxed ambience of the tranquil grounds.
